"Honduras: Day 2"
Well I was going to post yesterday but we had a long one so I was really tired. It has been great being back in Honduras. It is hard to believe that it has been a year since I was here last. It really does feel like I never left so I had no problem getting back into the groove of things. Yesterday I worked in labor and delivery for 6 hours. This area of nursing really isn't my slice of pie and I defenitely filled my "vagina quota" for the day but it was awesome being able to see 2 new lives being born within an hour. We left the hospital at around 5 yesterday and then came back to the mission house and had dinner. From there we went back to our hotel and swam. We have been getting up everyday at around 0530. Something which I thought would be insane hard for me to do considering that I have been working third shift all summer. I have been pleasently suprised though and have jumped out of bed the last two days excited to start another day. Today I went to Dr. Geron's office and I observed him while he saw patients. He is really good about involving students and allowed me to perform various assessments. Another student and I were there from about 0800 to 1130. When we got back I reorganized some of the supply room and helped everyone else make cookies for this weekend (Angie is involved with a "children's day" at the church and the cookies are for them). I must say that everything is going great and I feel so blessed that I was able to have another chance at serving in this country once more. Well we are getting ready to have dinner so I must depart.
Adios,
